Daily Status Report Adds 76 New Confirmed COVID-19 Cases And One Death Attributed To The Disease In Northeast Health District

***Death In Oconee County Brings Total To 11***

The Northeast Health District added 76 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and one death attributed to the disease with the release of the Department of Public Health Daily Status Report on Wednesday.

The death was of an 84-year-old Oconee County male with a chronic condition, and his death brings to 11 the number in the county from the disease since its outbreak in March.

When Oconee County Schools reopen for in-person instruction on Aug. 5, students, teachers, and staff will be provided with masks and encouraged to wear them when social distancing is not possible, but masks will not be required for students.

Students riding the school system’s buses, however, will be required to wear masks on the bus.
