The 10-county Northeast Health District of the Department of Public Health added five deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the Daily Status Report on Saturday, the largest number ever added in a single day in the District.
Included was one death in Oconee County, two in Barrow County, one in Jackson County and one in Walton County.
The Northeast Health District also added 22 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with the 1 p.m. Saturday report, and the seven-day rolling average for number of cases increased from 20.3 on Friday to 22.9 on Saturday.
The seven-day average of deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the District increased from 1.3 per day on Friday to 1.6 per day on Saturday.
The Oconee County death was of a 58-year-old male with chronic conditions. Oconee County now has five COVID-19 deaths reported.
The Barrow County deaths were of a 79-year-old female and an 86-year-old male, both with chronic conditions. The Jackson County death was of an 87-year-old female with chronic conditions. The Walton County death was of an 88-year-old female without know chronic conditions.
The Department of Community Health Report for late Friday listed six new cases of COVID-19 Positive Staff at long-term care facilities in the 10-County Northeast Health District, with one of them at the High Shoals Health and Rehabilitation nursing home in western Oconee County.
The Friday Georgia Emergency Management Agency Daily Situation Report listed 19 available Critical Care Beds in region on Friday, up from 16 on Thursday.
State Data
The Department of Public Health Daily Status Report on Saturday listed 914 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 26 deaths attributed to the disease.
The seven-day rolling average of added COVID-19 cases increased from 648.1 on Friday to 712.1 on Saturday.
The seven-day rolling average of deaths dropped from 32.6 on Friday to 31.3 on Saturday.
The Department of Public Health chart shows that 21 of the added 26 deaths occurred in the last 14 days, and the rolling average of deaths using the redated data on deaths increased just slightly from the day before.
The Department of Public Health Long-Term Care Facility report for the state shows that the number of long-term care facilities with COVID-19 among its residents and/or staff increased by three from Thursday to Friday, to 384 in the state.
The Georgia Emergency Management Agency Situation Report on Friday listed 889 Current Confirmed COVID-19 Hospitalizations, down from 919 the day earlier, and 1,985 available ventilators, down from 1,987 on Thursday.
