Oconee County Reported No Problems During Tuesday Election; Questions Show Mixed Interest In Making Races Non-Partisan

***Turnout Higher Than In 2016***

Just less than half–48.3 percent–of Oconee County’s Active Registered Voters cast a ballot in the merged Presidential Primary, Party Primary, and Non-Partisan Judicial election on Tuesday.

That compares with a turnout of 53.7 in the Presidential Primary in March of 2016 and with the turnout of 30.81 in the May 2016 Party Primary and Non-Partisan election.

As COVID-19 Cases Increase In State, Northeast Health District Shows No Increase In Seven-Day Rolling Average Of New Cases

***Only One New Case Reported At Long-Term Care Facilities***

Even as the state of Georgia saw continuing increases on Thursday in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and deaths, in the 10-county Northeast Health District the average number of new cases remained the same as the day before and the average number of new deaths was down just slightly.

The Northeast Health District did add 35 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Thursday Daily Status Report of the Department of Public Health, up from 19 the day before.
