The Northeast Health District added only eight new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Department of Public Health Daily Status Report for noon on Friday, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases dropped from 23.6 to 21.3.
The 10-county Northeast Region that includes Oconee and Clarke counties added no new deaths in the Daily Status Report for the third day in a row on Friday, with the total number of deaths standing at 35.
The Department of Public Health Long-Term Care Facility Report issued late on Thursday reported four additional deaths from late Wednesday to late Thursday of residents at the 16 facilities in the Northeast Health District with COVID-19 cases.
Three of those deaths were at a personal care home in Greene County, and one was at a nursing home in Walton County.
The data in the Daily Status Report come from heath care providers and laboratories, while the separate Department of Public Health Long-Term Care Facility COVID-19 Report is based on data provided by nursing homes and personal care homes.
Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry reported no new Active COVID-19 cases in Oconee County on Friday, based on data provided to him by the Georgia Emergency Management Agency. The total number of Active Case stands at 22.
The state of Georgia added 462 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in its Daily Status Report on Friday, down from 698 on Thursday. The seven-day rolling average dropped from 746.7 to 655.4.
The Department of Public Health reported 21 previously unreported death attributed to COVID-19 with the 11:25 a.m. Daily Status Report on Friday, down from 30 reported on Thursday. The seven-day rolling average dropped from 33.1 to 30.4.
The Department of Public Health reported that 18 of those 21 deaths occurred in the last 14 days based on its current dating of deaths.
The Department of Public Health is reporting that 305 deaths have occurred in the last 14 days, down from 316 deaths that occurred during the 14 days leading up to Thursday.

The first three charts are for the 10-county Northeast Health District.
The first chart shows added cases across time for all 10 counties along with a rolling average for those added cases.
The second chart lists all 10 counties and provides a snapshot of cumulative cases, deaths and hospitalizations as of 11:25 a.m. on Friday.
I standardized the cases per 100,000 population, using the most recent Census Bureau estimates of population, for July of 2019. The Department of Public Health uses some other, slightly different and unidentified, estimate of population size in its reports.
The third chart lists the data from the most recent Long-Term Care Facility Reports. The DPH has issued these reports daily in recent days.
The final two charts plot added confirmed COVID-19 cases for the state and added deaths attributed to COVID-19 for the state, based on the Daily Status Report. Each chart also shows a rolling average for these two measures.

Do the deaths in nursing homes ever end up in the overall numbers of deaths for the state or for the region? I suspect not since it looks like there are 35 deaths in the NE region and 30 deaths in nursing homes? So, 65 deaths overall? Your help on all of this is appreciated?

Please see my post of Saturday. The Daily Status Report lists 37 cumulative deaths for the Northeast District. The Long-Term Care Facility Report lists 31 deaths. It is theoretically possible that all but six of the deaths in the Northeast District have occurred at long-term care facilities, but that explanation seems unlikely given the discrepancies over time in the reports and the different reporting procedures used. The Department of Public Health has not explained these differences.
