As of noon today, Clarke County had 32 confirmed cases of COVID-19, Oconee County had 10, and Barrow County had 6. The numbers for other surrounding counties are shown in the chart below.
The state, based on the noon Daily Status Report from the Georgia Department of Health, now has 2,001 confirmed COVID-19 cases, up from 1,525 at noon on Thursday.
That is an increase of 31.2 percent in the state.
The Oconee County increase, on a much smaller base, is 42.9 percent, while the Clarke County increase is 33.3 percent.
The state now has 566 hospitalizations due to COVID-19, up from 473 at noon on yesterday (19.7 percent increase), and 64 deaths, up from 48 at noon on yesterday (33.3 percent increase).
The rate of confirmed cases, based on July 1, 2019, population estimates, is 1.9 per 10,000 for the state of Georgia. For Clarke and Oconee counties, it is 1.5 per 10,000. For Barrow County it is .7 per 10,000 persons.
The Department of Public Health released its 7 p.m. report today as usual but stated that the update was only for cases reported as of 2:16 p.m., not 7 p.m. No explanation was offered for the lack of data beyond 2:16 p.m. The chart below has been updated to reflect the data included in that 7 p.m. report. Clarke County added a single case, but Oconee and the other counties in the area did not. The number of cases in the state increased by 129, to 2,130.
The Department of Public Health updates the Daily Status Report (now twice a day) but does not have a cumulative report. Seeing the data over time is essential for understanding where we are as a state in dealing with COVID-19. I have downloaded the Daily Status Report since March 17 and used those downloads to build four small charts in the second larger chart below. I also was able to recreate earlier data from several sources.

So grateful to you for doing all these charts. As you say, they are very important for understanding what is happening with Covid-19. The charts clearly show that the pandemic is not currently being controlled as the numbers continue to rise steeply, no flattening of the curve yet unfortunately.
Just read where BOC was conducting a meeting Tuesday. THEY JUST DON’T GET IT! BOC has a total disregard for the pandemic health situation and the staff they put in medical peril. Vote these fools out.
