Rolling Averages Of COVID-19 Deaths, Cases in Northeast Health District Hold Steady With Release Of Monday Daily Status Report

***New Death Reported In Jackson County***

The seven-day rolling averages of added COVID-19 deaths and cases in the Northeast Health District held steady on Monday after three days of slight growth in both indicators.

The 10-county District added one new death–the same as on Monday a week ago--and 35 new cases, down from the 36 added a week ago, based on data released by the Department of Public Health in its Daily Status Report.

The seven-day rolling average of added COVID-19 deaths held stead at 2.3, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases dropped from 83.4 on Sunday to 83.3 on Monday.

The death was of an 81-year-old female in Jackson County with a chronic condition.

The 35 cases were spread across the District, with only Morgan County not adding cases. Oconee County added three cases, and Clarke County added two.

The Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) reported on Monday that the number of COVID-19 patients at area hospitals (47) decreased from the day before, that the number of ICU beds in use (61) increased from the day before, and that the number of adult ventilators in use (26) was the same as the day before.

The Department of Public Health did not report positivity rates for molecular tests in either Oconee Clarke or Clarke County again on Monday.

State Data

Across the state, the Department of Public Health reported 14 new deaths from COVID-19, all of them in the last 14 days. The Department of Public Health also removed one death it has previously listed as caused by the disease.

The seven-day rolling average of added deaths dropped from 37.4 on Sunday to 35.1 on Monday.

The Department of Public Health added 937 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases increased from 1,253.1 on Sunday to 1,271.9 on Monday.

The state added 1,271.9 molecular tests, and the positivity rate for those added tests was 6.6 percent. The seven-day rolling average of that statistic increased from 5.6 on Sunday to 5.7 on Monday.

Across the state, the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) reported on Monday that the number of COVID-19 patients (1,252) increased from the day before, the number of ICU beds in use (2,300) increased from the day before, and the number of adult ventilators in use (875) increased from the day before.

The Department of Community Health did not produce a Long-Term Care Facility Report on Monday, a holiday.
