Northeast Health District Added 92 New COVID-19 Cases on Sunday And No Deaths From Disease

***Rolling Average Of Added Cases Drops***

The Department of Public Health listed only 92 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths from the disease in the Northeast Health District with the release of the Daily Status Report on Sunday.

Sundays are light reporting days, but the 92 new cases are less than half of the 186 reported last Sunday, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases dropped to 170.9 on Sunday from 184.3 on Saturday.

Oconee County added only four cases, compared with the 13 added last Sunday, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases dropped to 10.4 per day from 11.7 on Saturday.

Clarke County added 30 cases, compared with 34 last Sunday, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases dropped to 39.1 on Sunday from 39.7 on Saturday.

The Northeast Health District had not recorded a death from COVID-19 in last Sunday’s Daily Status Report, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths from the disease in the District remained unchanged on Sunday at 6.3 deaths per day.

The Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) reported on Sunday that the number of COVID-19 patients at area hospitals (134) decreased by one from the day before, the number of ICU beds in use (69) was unchanged from the day before, and the number of adult ventilators in use (37) decreased by one from the day before.

The number of COVID-19 patients now has decreased for seven days in a row.

State Data

The Daily Status Report listed 2,076 new cases of COVID-19 across the state on Sunday, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases dropped to 3,579.0 from 3,831.4 on Saturday.

The Daily Status Report added four confirmed deaths from COVID-19, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths decline slightly to 93.1 on Sunday from 93.3 on Saturday. The state had recorded five deaths last Sunday.

Only one of the added deaths occurred in the last 14 days, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths dated by occurrence fell on Sunday from Saturday.

The state eliminated one death previously recorded as due to COVID-19 on Sunday.

The Department of Public Health listed 18 “probable deaths” from COVID-19 in Sunday’s Daily Status Report, and the seven-day rolling average of added “probable deaths” increased to 20.1 from 17.6 on Saturday.

The Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) reported on Sunday that the number of COVID-19 patients (2,931) at the state’s hospitals decreased from the day before, the number of ICU beds in use (2,585) decreased from the day before, and the number of adult ventilators in use (1,329) decreased from the day before.

The Department of Public Health reported administration of 17,004 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations on Sunday, down from 21,411 on Saturday.

The total number of vaccinations in the state is now 1,446,647. The state report does not distinguish between first and second doses. The state has a population of 10,833,472.

All of the allocated 1,835,775 doses have now been shipped. On Sunday, 78.8 percent of the shipped doses had been administered.

Data on vaccinations are not being released at the county level.

The charts below show the seven-day rolling average of the addition of COVID-19 molecular and antigen cases combined for the Northeast Health District and for the state of Georgia since Nov. 3, when the state first began reporting antigen test results.
