Seventy New Cases Of COVID-19 Added In Northeast Health District, But No Deaths Attributed To Disease Reported

***Clarke County Added 248 Cases In Last Week***

The Georgia Department of Public Health reported 70 new Confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Northeast Health District on Monday, moving the seven-day rolling average of added cases to a new high of 89.1 cases per day, up from 83.1 on Sunday.

Clarke County again led the 10-county District by adding 24 new cases on Monday. Clarke County has added 248 new cases in the last seven days.

Oconee County added seven new cases on Monday and has added 42 new cases in the last week.

The Northeast Health District did not add any new deaths in the Department of Public Health Daily Status Report on Monday and has not added any deaths since June 26. The seven-day rolling average remains 0.0.

The Department of Community Health did not add any new deaths at the area’s 25 long-term care facilities listed in the Long-Term Care Facility Report on Monday.

The Department of Community Health reported one death at a Jackson County facility on June 30, but that death has not been included in the Department of Public Health Report to this point.

The Department of Community Health did report the addition of three cases of COVID-19 among staff at those 25 facilities in its Monday report.

The Georgia Emergency Management Agency did not issue reports on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, but in its Monday report it listed 56 critical care beds in use in area hospitals, up from 51 in the last report on Thursday. Fourteen beds are reported as available.

State Data

Across the state, the Daily Status report listed 1,548 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, and the seven-day rolling average of cases dropped to 2,521.0 from 2,615 on Sunday.

The Daily Status Report listed 18 new deaths, with 16 of those deaths in the last 14 days, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths increased from 11.7 on Sunday to 13.4 on Monday.

The Department of Public Health actually removed one previously recorded death–on June 22–so the number of added deaths was 19 rather than 18.

The Department of Community Health reported COVID-19 among residents and/or staff at 515 facilities across the state on Monday, up from 503 on Thursday.

The Georgia Emergency Management Agency reported 1,962 Confirmed COVID-19 Hospitalizations on Monday, a new record high.

The Agency had not issued its usual Situation Report COVID-19 on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, but it did report the number of Confirmed COVID-19 Hospitalizations on its Facebook page, and the number has more than doubled since June 21.

The number of ventilators in use stood at 950 on Monday, up from 922 in the last report on Thursday of last week.
