***Area Hospital Also Report Record Number Of COVID-19 Patients***

The Northeast Health District added a record number of COVID-19 cases on Thursday–614–on a date the state broke 10,000 cases for the first time, with that volume of causing a delay in the issuance of the Department of Public Health Daily Status Report.

The Northeast Health District also added six deaths attributed to the disease, a number exceeded only three times–on Sept. 1, when 10 deaths were recorded, and on June 2 and on Sept. 18, when seven were recorded.

Two of those deaths were in Clarke County, one was in Barrow County, and three were in Jackson County.

The Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) reported on Thursday that the number of COVID-19 patients at area hospitals (194) increased by eight from the day before. The number of patients with COVID-19 is at a level never reported before.

State Data

The Department of Public Health usually releases the Daily Status Report at 2:50 p.m, but the Daily Status Report web site included the note at that time on Thursday: “Due to a high volume of numbers to process, the COVID-19 update for 12-24-2020 will be delayed several hours. Please check back after 5 p.m. for today’s update.”

The Report was published at 4:22 p.m.

The 10,640 cases listed in the Daily Status Report pushed the seven-day-rolling average of added cases to 7,434.4, a new record and up from 7,066.4 on Wednesday.

The Daily Status Report listed 54 deaths, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths declined from 37.0 on Wednesday to 36.7 on Thursday. The Daily Status Report on last Thursday had listed 56 deaths.

Forty-four of the added deaths occurred in the last 14 days, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths dated by occurrence increased on Thursday, as it has the last three days.

The Department of Public Health eliminated one death from its earlier tally of deaths attributed to COVID-19.

The Daily Status Report listed 10 “probable deaths” from COVID-19, and the seven-day rolling average of added “probable death” remained unchanged at 5.6.

Yes, thank you, Lee. Discouraging numbers. Do you know if/when they will begin to add vaccination data. Maybe those numbers would be more encouraging.

"An article on CNN featured a doctor who works for the Immunization Action Coalition — a Big Pharma front group — who admitted that COVID vaccine trials didn’t include the elderly, and that vaccines typically don’t work well in “a frail elderly person.”

Do more research people. Mainstream media won't show you.
