Northeast Health District Added Four Deaths Attributed To COVID-19 On Tuesday, Largest Single-Day Increase In More Than A Month

***District Adds 16 New COVID-19 Cases; Seven-Day Rolling Average Drops***

The Northeast Health District added four deaths attributable to COVID-19 in the 24-hour-period ending at 11:25 a.m. on Tuesday, the largest number of deaths added in the District in a single 24-hour-period going back to the end of March.

A Barrow County female whose age is not known was listed in the Department of Public Health Daily Status Report on Tuesday as a COVID-19 fatality. She is classified as having had chronic conditions.

Two males, one aged 55 and the other aged 83, were listed as COVID-19 dead in Greene County. The 55-year-old had chronic conditions, and the 83 year was labeled as having unknown chronic conditions.

A COVID-19 death in Walton County was of a 65-year-old male with chronic conditions.

The total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 stands at five in each of these three counties and at 34 for the 10-county Northeast Health District.

The noon Tuesday Daily Status report listed 16 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the 10-county Northeast Health District. The seven-day rolling average of added cases dropped from 26.9 cases on Monday to 24.4 cases on Tuesday.

Oconee County has not added any cases in four days, and the total cumulative count of cases stands at 65.

Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry reported no new Active COVID-19 cases in Oconee County on Tuesday, based on information provided to him by the Georgia Emergency Management Agency. The number of Active Cases in the county is 20.

Across the state, the Daily Status Report at 11:25 a.m. on Tuesday added 457 new COVID-19 cases and 54 deaths, including the four in the Northeast Health District.

The seven-day rolling average of added confirmed cases dropped from 761.4 on Monday to 715.6 on Tuesday.

The seven-day rolling average of added deaths attributed to COVID-19 across the state dropped from 37.4 to 34.0.
